WARNING: If you experience a hard drive failure, please immediately power off the drive to prevent overheating and/or physical damage to the magnetic platters.  In some cases, you may destroy data while you attempt to recover the data yourself.

Stedman Computer Systems uses a wide variety of data recovery tools to repair drives and recover data.  We recover data from most media types and operating systems.  Media includes desktop and laptop IDE/ATA/EIDE hard drives, SATA hard drives, SCSI hard drives, RAID arrays, floppy disks, and a wide variety of backup tapes. 

We recover data from all types of operating systems including all Windows desktop and server operating systems including Server 2003, XP, 2000, NT, ME, 98, 95, 3.X, and DOS.  We also recover UNIX, LINUX, Novell, Apple MAC OS, and Sun Solaris.

Our data recovery service includes a free initial evaluation and estimate.  We usually complete the evaluation within 24 hours after receiving your drive or media.  If the data is recoverable, we usually can complete the recovery in 1-2 days.  Some recoveries take longer if we need to order parts to repair the drive.  Recovered data can be stored on a new hard drive, on DVD, or on CDs.  We ship your data back to you using the shipping method you choose.

We also offer discounts for academic institutions, government agencies, churches, and non-profit organizations.

When shipping your drive or media to us, please carefully package the item assuming that it may be mishandled in transit.  We recommend that you wrap each item in shock proof material such as bubble wrap, enclose it in a cardboard shipping box that has at least two inches of clearance on each side, fill any empty space with foam peanuts or crumpled newspaper, and tape the box closed with 2 inch shipping tape. 

Be sure to enclose your contact information including your name, telephone number, address, a brief description of the problem, and any attempts you have made to resolve the problem yourself.  Also, please let us know if you have had another recovery service work on the problem and describe the repairs that were attempted.

You may ship your package to us via Federal Express, UPS, Airborne, US Mail, etc.  When expediting shipping, please do not choose a Saturday delivery option.  Please make sure that you purchase a shipping service that provides tracking information on your shipment in case the package is lost in transit.
